Avalanche is the name given to a phenomenon that occurs when an accumulated mass of snow suddenly moves rapidly and violently and rushes toward the valley.

During descent, this mass carries more and more snow and can drag people, animals, trees, rocks and buildings.

An avalanche can reach up to 160 kilometers per hour. This displacement of snow masses can be caused by several causes, such as the passage of skiers, the action of strong winds, sound propagation, among others.
